Our Story
The Beginning
Twenty-five years ago, my parents purchased the neighboring property, which was once a thriving pecan orchard. Through hard work, faith, and a vision to serve others, they transformed it into what is now The Grove Nursing Home and Outpatient Rehabilitation.
I grew up on that property—playing outside as a child, watching my parents build something special, and spending summers working at The Grove to earn a little spending money. Those experiences instilled in me an appreciation for serving others and the importance of caring for our community.
After completing my education and pursuing other opportunities, I eventually found my way back home. My wife, Ashley, and I share a deep love for this community and a passion for continuing the legacy my parents began. What started as their dream has become our shared mission.
Today, we are honored to own and operate both The Grove Nursing Home and Orchard Park Independent Living. As my parents enjoy a well-deserved retirement, Ashley and I are committed to building on the foundation they created—providing compassionate care, meaningful relationships, and a place our residents and their families can truly call home. Every decision we make is guided by the values that started it all: faith, family, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serving others.
The Future
As our community continued to grow, we recognized a need for housing designed specifically for active adults ages 55 and older. We envisioned a place where residents could enjoy the freedom of independent living while knowing support, friendship, and peace of mind were always close by.
With thoughtful planning, prayer, and a desire to serve our neighbors, Orchard Park Independent Living was created. More than a neighborhood, Orchard Park is a community where residents can maintain their independence, build lasting friendships, and enjoy a worry-free lifestyle.
From beautifully maintained homes and daily prepared meals to scheduled transportation, wellness check-ins, gated access, and convenient on-site healthcare services, every detail is designed to help residents live confidently and comfortably. Our dedicated team takes care of the everyday responsibilities so residents can spend more time enjoying life, pursuing their interests, and making meaningful connections.
The response from our community has been overwhelming, and we are excited to continue that mission with the opening of Orchard Park Independent Living – Hattiesburg in Fall 2027. Our second location will bring the same commitment to exceptional service, compassionate care, and vibrant independent living to even more families across South Mississippi.
Whether in Columbia or Hattiesburg, our mission remains the same: to provide a welcoming place where older adults can thrive with independence, dignity, comfort, and the peace of mind they—and their families—deserve.
Michael & Ashley Bradshaw
Meet Michael & Ashley
Michael and Ashley Bradshaw are the owners of The Grove Nursing Home, Orchard Park Independent Living, and Pecan View Properties. Michael is from Columbia, Mississippi, and Ashley is from Crystal Springs, Mississippi, but together they have built their life, family, and work around serving the Columbia community.
As hands-on owners, Michael and Ashley are committed to creating communities where residents feel safe, valued, and truly at home. Their approach is rooted in faith, family, compassion, and a genuine desire to serve others well.
Together, they are raising their two children, Amy and Jack, with the same values that guide their work each day: integrity, kindness, hard work, and service. Whether at The Grove or Orchard Park, their mission is simple—to care for people like family and create places residents are proud to call home.
